Introduction

Energy Check-In ("we", "our", or "the service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google
  • Check-in logs — your energy score (1–5), activity tag, and timestamp for each check-in you submit
  • Extension metadata — your timezone and UTC offset, used to display check-in times in your local time
  • Usage data — basic analytics about which features you use (no page content or browsing history)

We do not collect:

  • Your browsing history or the URLs of pages you visit
  • The content of any web page you have open
  • Any information from pages where the extension is active beyond what you explicitly submit in a check-in

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to:

  • Display your personal energy heatmap and analytics in the web app
  • Sync check-in logs from the Chrome extension to your account
  • Generate personalised pattern insights (Pro plan)
  • Send weekly summary emails if you have opted in (Pro plan)

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train machine learning models.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in the European Union. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel only.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Energy Check-In:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
  • Google OAuth — sign-in only; we do not receive access to your Google account beyond your name and email
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions; we do not store card details (stripe.com)

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — export all your check-in logs as CSV from the Settings page
  • Delete your data — use "Delete all my data" in Settings to permanently remove all check-ins; to delete your account entirely, email us at nooseptic@gmail.com
  • Correct your data — contact us if you believe your data is inaccurate
  • Data portability — your check-in export is in CSV format, usable in any spreadsheet tool

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

Children

Energy Check-In is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify users by email where required by law.
